Client Background

Uncommon Electricians, formerly Chalk Electrical, was conceived by Corey and Shannon, who envisioned a company that transcends conventional trade industry norms.

Established initially as Chalk Electrical in 2015, the business thrived on a blend of technical mastery and a unique business ethos. However, the founders felt the need to evolve the brand to more accurately reflect their innovative and socially impactful business model.

This led to the birth of Uncommon Electricians in September 2022, a rebrand that symbolises their commitment to exceptional service, cultural integrity, and social impact.

Project Brief

Onside Online was tasked with transforming the Chalk Electrical web presence into the new, bold, and innovative Uncommon Electricians brand.

The objective was to create a website that not only aligned with their rebranded identity but also effectively communicated their distinctive approach to electrical services, including their trademarked operating method, CULTURE – SERVICE – SOUL™.

Execution

The redesign process involved a comprehensive overhaul of the existing website structure, content, and aesthetics to align with the new branding.

Key elements of the project included:

  1. Visual and Narrative Branding: Integrating the new brand’s ethos into the visual elements and content narrative. The website was designed to reflect Uncommon Electricians’ bold, innovative spirit, and commitment to social impact and unparalleled service standards.
  2. User Experience and Accessibility: Enhancing the website’s usability and accessibility, ensuring a seamless experience for all users. This included optimising navigation, ensuring mobile responsiveness, and improving loading times.
  3. Content Development: Crafting engaging and informative content that tells the story of Uncommon Electricians, from its origins as Chalk Electrical to its current incarnation. This involved detailing the founders’ journey, their business philosophy, and the unique aspects of their services.
  4. SEO and Online Presence: Strengthening Uncommon Electricians’ online presence through search engine optimisation (SEO), making the brand more discoverable to potential clients.

Outcomes and Benefits

Post-launch, Uncommon Electricians experienced significant benefits from the new website, including:

  1. Enhanced Brand Recognition: The new website effectively conveyed the unique identity of Uncommon Electricians, leading to increased brand recognition and differentiation in the market.
  2. Improved Client Engagement: The user-friendly design and compelling content led to higher engagement rates, with visitors spending more time on the site and exploring various services.
  3. Increased Online Visibility: The SEO-optimized website led to improved search engine rankings, making Uncommon Electricians more visible to potential clients searching for electrical services.
  4. Positive Client Feedback: The website received positive feedback from clients and industry peers, appreciating its innovative approach and the ease of accessing information.

“Leigh and Mandy have been amazing to work with.

From our first meeting they understood the vision and direction of our company and worked closely with us to help bring it to life. They built us an amazing website but also offered so many additional insights we hadn’t considered.
